Ahhh, do you hear that? That’s the sound of a suitcase zipper closing. A sound I haven’t heard in quite some time, but it’s back now and it’s music to my ears. I’ve missed that feeling of traveling. Not even the destinations themselves — though, obviously, that’s great, too, and usually the whole point of a getaway. But there’s something about the anticipation leading up to the trip that’s almost just as sweet. Making an agenda, laying out outfits, even packing a suitcase — all of it is fun for me, and something I’m looking forward to experiencing once more.

Now that I, along with a solid portion of the United States, have been vaccinated, I finally feel safe enough to travel again and experience a bit of #shotgirlsummer. I’m excited to try new restaurants, shop in new stores, maybe meet some new people and dip my toes in the ocean. But considering I haven’t left the house in a year a half, I’m also going to need some new travel accessories. Particularly, a suitcase.

Listen, luggage is expensive, so in my opinion, you really need to get your money’s worth. With that in mind, I rounded up the best pieces that are both stylish and functional. From duffles, to rolling carry-ons and weekenders, here are the best bags for your re-introduction to traveling.
