THE nation faces a cold, bleak winter as energy prices skyrocket and the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite.

But a long-stay winter break somewhere warmer in Europe or beyond could be a real alternative. With prices from just £6.75 per person, per night, it could save you a fortune with energy bills expected to quadruple by January.

From self-catering stays in sunny Egypt to a luxurious Caribbean cruise that costs less than £76 per night, there’s plenty on offer.

MURCIA, SPAIN – £6.75 pppn, self-catering

IF you’ve got your own pad on wheels, the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s fabulous 77-night deal at the La Manga site in Murcia is a stunner.
