THE best value holiday hotspots for Brits have been revealed – with one European city coming out on top.
The study, conducted by Starling Bank, found Portugal's capital city Lisbon to be the best value.
The research looked at the most visited top 40 cities in Europe across seven categories, using data from a number of websites including TripAdvisor and WHO.
This included food and drink, nightlife, things to do and visual appeal, along with accessibility and friendliness.
The study then ranked these scores against the cost of staying in the city for a week, to find out where offers the best experience per £1 spent.
Lisbon took the top spot, scoring highly for "things to do" and the "nightlife" categories, with an average of £440.20 to stay for the week.
