The dinner menus change daily and are often created with what the chefs can source locally.

We dined in The Garden which serves English classics like roasted venison with a port wine jus and fondant potatoes.

What are the rooms like at The Grand Hotel?

There are 152 beautiful bedrooms, many with spectacular sea views.

We spent a night in the Penthouse Suite that had all the sumptuousness of a 5* hotel, including a large lounge and dining area and even its own private lift.

The bedroom with plush, soft linen is also generous in size, and the ensuite bathroom with free-standing bath and walk-in shower was made even more inviting with fluffy robes, slippers and luxury Molton Brown toiletries.

Is The Grand Hotel family-friendly?

It's the perfect spot for anyone travelling with kids.

Little ones under two can stay for free in their parents room and you can request receive a host of extras like bottle warmers, sterilisers, cots, nappy changing mats and even a selection of organic teatime baby foods.

Toddlers and teens are well looked after too, with an additional charge of £30 and £35 per night respectively for accommodation and breakfast.
