The 'incredible' seaside resort with £1 pints and 20 beaches – under three hours from the UK | The Sun

QUICK flights, sandy beaches and £1 pints all can be found at a European beach resort you may not have heard of.

And holidays are cheap too – with seven-night breaks for as little as £218pp.

Why Poreč?

While most Brits head to Split or Dubrovnik in Croatia, Poreč is a great beach destination that is popular with Europeans instead.

Found in the north of the country, there are more than 20 beaches to choose from, many which are Blue Flag so you can expect them to be clean.

Flights are to Pula, which take around 2 hours and start from around £24 return with Ryanair.

It often has great weather too – it rarely drops below 10C in winter and reaches highs of 27C in summer.

If you want to make your own holiday, Ryanair flights start from £24 return to Pula, which is less than an hour from Poreč, while hotels and B&Bs can be found for around £30 a night.

If you fancy going between the beaches, you can get the brightly coloured tourist train that runs along the streets which kids will love.

There are lots of others to choose from, ranging from pebble to sandy beaches.

Many of them have boat tours to watch dolphins or the sunset, or spend the night at some of the beach bars such as Saint and Sinner.

Back in town, you can visit the 6th century Euphrasian Basilica which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Tourists have praised the city, with one calling it an "incredible ancient city".

There are lots of restaurants, cafes and bars to choose from, with one of the best restaurants being Sveti Nikola, with amazing sea views from the harbour.

While more touristy, there is also the Peterokutna Kula restaurant, built into a 1447 tower
