  • One of the best lidos in Scotland is like ‘swimming in the Caribbean’

An open-air swimming pool in Scotland has been praised for making people feel like they are ‘in the Caribbean’.

Gourock pool is located in Inverclyde and can be found sits right next to the Clyde estuary, offering breathtaking views across the sea.

The pool allows swimmers to bathe in saltwater whilst taking in the open air, accompanied by views of Holy Loch, Loch Long and Gare Loch on the other side of the estuary with the picturesque hills in between.

It has been revamped to include modern changing facilities, accompanied by a terrace to allow visitors to sunbathe.

As well as the chance to swim in the daytime, you can swim beneath the night sky as part of its ‘starlight swims’ scheme.
