The tiny UK village that's home to one of Hollywood's biggest stars – and tourists can stay from £27 | The Sun

A TINY UK village is home to one of the world's biggest movie stars – and it's also incredibly popular with tourists.

Berkshire is home to some of the country's quaintest little villages, including the likes of Dorney and Bucklebury.

However, Sonning often proves itself to be one of the most crowd-pleasing, with several A-list celebs choosing to making it their home.

Perhaps most famous among them is George Clooney, who bought a huge home there with his wife Amal in 2016.

The pair live in a grade II listed 17th century mansion that has its own 12-seat home cinema and a swimming pool.

The Clooneys are said to be "virtually invisible" in the village, and are "screened by a veil of lush foliage that reveals only a hint of rooftop and a glimmer of a boathouse next to the water's edge" according to Mail Online.

It's no surprise though with the village receiving glowing reviews from people online.

UK blogger Pictures of England described it as "picture perfect" after paying a visit, praising the architecture in particular.

They wrote: "Situated on the river Thames, Sonning is a picture-perfect village well worth a visit, with its many listed buildings and wonderful Saxon church."
