TUI reveals full list of 19 destinations launching from May 17 when holidays can go ahead

TUI has revealed the full list of destinations which Brits can travel to from May 17 when holidays abroad can go ahead.

From next week, the travel ban for people in England will be lifted, meaning a foreign trip will be allowed again.

There are just 12 destinations on the UK green list, which allow quarantine-free travel, four of which are open to Brits later this month.

However, Brits can still travel to amber destinations, but will have to quarantine for 10 days at home, as well as pay for two Covid tests during the quarantine.

The green list destinations which TUI will fly from this month are

  • Algarve
  • Madeira
  • Porto Santo

Brits will still need a negative test or proof of both vaccinations to enter Portugal, and will need a Covid test before returning to the UK and on day two of returning.

TUI will also operate routes to the following amber destinations:

  • Antigua
  • Barbados
  • Crete
  • Corfu
  • Cuba
  • Fuerteventura
  • Gran Canaria
  • Grenada
  • Kos
  • Lanzarote
  • La Palma
  • Malta
  • Rhodes
  • St Lucia
  • Tenerife
  • Zante

The amber destinations in which TUI is flying to are primarily to Spain and Greece, although also include St Lucia, Cuba, Antigua and Barbados.

Brits heading to Spain or Greece will need proof of both jabs or a negative Covid test but won't have to quarantine on arrival.

A mandatory 10-day quarantine at home will be required when returning to the UK, as well as a pre-arrival Covid test and two tests on day two and day eight, booked before arrival also.

Despite this, TUI has cancelled all holidays and flights to red and amber list destinations which require a quarantine on arrival until June 6.

They will also only be flying from limited airports this month, which includes Manchester Airport, Gatwick Airport, Birmingham Airport and Bristol Airport.

TUI passengers due to travel before the end of August can change their holiday for free up to 14 days before departure.

Their free Covid Protection scheme covers any additional costs due to Covid that aren't covered by travel insurance.

TUI passengers can take advantage of the cheapest Covid tests on the market, with the tour operator offering test packages from just £20.

TUI, who has partnered with government-authorised providers Chronomics, will offer both a pre-departure lateral flow test and a PCR test for £20, for Brits returning from green list countries.

They have also launched an amber test package as well, costing £50, with a lateral flow test and two PCR tests, as well as two packages which include outbound PCR tests if required by the destination, costing £60 for green kits and £90 for amber kits.

Here are some of the other airlines and tour operators offering discounted Covid test packages.

TUI recently launched their summer sale with £50 off Portugal holidays and £100 off Spain and Greece holidays.
