UK holiday bookings for 2022 already soaring – find out which spots are nearly selling out

FAMILIES who want to wait until next summer for a staycation could face a shortage of holidays – even if they book now.

Some of the popular parts of the country are already seeing huge demand for bookings in summer 2022, despite it being more than a year away.

With the current travel uncertainty, some families are most likely wanting to wait until restrictions have fully lifted before taking the kids on holiday, according to a recent survey.

Not only that, but holidaymakers who have had their holidays cancelled this year have likely moved them to next summer – meaning even less are available.

Suffolk holiday lettings company Best of Suffolk said they had seen a rush of bookings for next summer, with bookings up 80 per cent compared to this point last year.

It is also the same over in Cornwall – Zena De Ville, who rents out a caravan in Padstow, said back in May that summer holiday bookings for 2022 were already filling up.

She told Cornwall Live: "We’ve already got 12 weeks booked for 2022.

“It’s ridiculous, in March I was taking bookings for next year and I just thought that we hadn’t even started this one yet. It’s madness.”

She also said that a booking cancellation for a group holiday was filled in just half an hour due to demand.

Also in Cornwall, Mother Ivey’s Bay holiday park is "completely rammed" for 2022, according to owner Patrick Langmaid while tour operator Titan Travel has said they are already seeing 2022 UK holidays selling out "earlier than ever".

Pete Waters, executive director of Visit East of England, said: "Pre-bookings for 2022 are up more than 60 per cent on 2019, pre-Covid.

"While a lot of people want to go abroad for guaranteed sun, those who holiday in the UK are booking up early."

Even Premier Inn said they have seen huge demand for 2022, with their Cheltenham rooms selling out for 2022 during the Cheltenham races.

Thankfully you can still find great deals, with many holiday parks launching deals for next summer already.

Even Suffolk and Cornwall holidays are still available in 2022, which we've found from just £147:

  • Hoseasons four-night breaks in Suffolk – from £199
  • Park Holidays three-night breaks in Suffolk – from £240
  • Four-night Suffolk breaks with Sykes Cottages – from £471
  • Haven three-night breaks in Cornwall – from £147
  • Hoseasons four-night breaks in Cornwall – from £189
  • Parkdean four-night breaks – from £269
  • Four-night Cornwall breaks with Sykes Cottages – from £440

Holiday parks Haven and Parkdean both announced their own 2022 deals while Center Parcs is already selling 2023 breaks – with families wanting to get a trip as far as two years in advance.
