During the summer months of July and August temperatures rise rapidly, usually staying in the mid-to-high 30 degrees.
Frequently they’ll go even higher, with temperatures regularly topping 40 degrees at the very hottest times of the year.
The Mediterranean and Aegean coasts boast the higher temps with Black Sea coastline more humid and wet.

What is the hottest temperature in Turkey?
The hottest temperature ever recorded in Turkey is 49.1 degrees.
This was recorded in Cizre, Şırnak Province, in July 2021.
This broke the previous record of 49 °C that had stood for 60 years and was also set in Cizre.
When is the best time to visit?
According to travellersworldwide.com, the best time to visit Turkey is during spring or autumn.
The weather in Turkey is pleasant between March to May and September to November, and the summertime crowds have dispersed.
You’ll enjoy at least 10 hours of daily sunshine all the way down the coast from Istanbul to Antalya with temperatures averaging around 26ºC and sometimes feeling hotter.
Where in Turkey is warm all year round?
Antalya has one of the warmest winter climates in the country.
