Woman falls asleep on the beach – only for cruise ship to leave without her | The Sun

A WOMAN claims she was left stranded after her cruise ship left without her – after she fell asleep on the beach.

Passengers are given strict times to be back on their cruises before they depart from their stops, and that means some get left behind.

That's exactly what happened to one woman, who refers to herself as Phfame (@phfame00) on Tiktok.

She shared a video of her cruise ship sailing off into the distance, with the caption, "Y'all my boat left me wtf celebrity cruises."

Over the top of the video she is heard saying: "What in the f*** am I suppose to do? I'm literally stuck on the island."

Phfame was in Cozumel in Mexico at the time. She claims she "got drunk and started listening to good music and fell asleep" in a follow up video.

The first of her videos has been seen more than five million times, with most people saying more or less the same thing.

One wrote: "What are you supposed to do? Be on time!"

Another said: "For the boat to be that far out, you must’ve been at least a half hour late."

A third added: "Believe them when they say, be on time."

However, Phfame's holiday wasn't completely ruined, with a later video revealing that she made it back to the boat after getting herself to the next port.

She also acknowledged that it was her fault for making the mistake in the first place.

When checking in, passengers need to arrive at the port with plenty of time to make sure they're on board when the ship sets sail.

However, some people risk missing the boat by flying in on the same day they're due to leave.

Christine Kesteloo lived and worked on a cruise ship half of every year in her old job and knows all too well the risks of arriving late.

She said: "I would never fly in the same day that my cruise is leaving.

"So many people miss the ship just because they booked their flight for the same day that the ship's leaving. Don't do that."

Instead Christine recommends flying in the day before and staying near to the port in a hotel to make sure you have enough time to get to the ship.
