You can rent entire castles in the UK for your post-lockdown holiday staycation from £37 each per night

FORGET a B&B – you can rent an entire castle for post-lockdown holiday.

Manchester-based Luxury Castle Hire have hundreds of castles which are open for special events.

Many of them are open to renting just one room for the night for guests who haven't got a large holiday planned.

Stays are also fairly affordable, with some for just £37 each, per night.

However, large groups can rent entire castles with prices on request, and some have as many as 73 bedrooms on offer.

Here are the best castles to take advantage of in the UK:

Langley Castle, Northumberland



Built in 1350, the castle is one of the few Medieval fortified castle hotels in England.

If you want some luxury. some of the rooms have four-poster beds, and sauna and spa bath.

You can also expect some peace and quiet thanks to the seven-foot thick walls.

Rooms start from £149 per night, or can rent 12 rooms with price on request.

Swinton Park Castle, Yorkshire



The 19th century castle is located across 200 acres of estate in the Yorkshire Dales.

While popular with weddings, day-stayers can make the most of the spa and indoor swimming pool.

This includes a salt steam room and a Finnish sauna – as well as adults-only sessions at the pool.

Rooms start from £185 per night, or can rent 36 rooms with price on request.

Bovey Castle, Devon



The five-star castle was built in 1930 by Great Western Railways as a  hotel and golf resort.

Guests can opt for a walk across Dartmoor National Park or book one of the many activities including hot air ballooning, clay pigeon shooting and rock climbing.

Otherwise avid golfers can make the most of the 18-hole championship golf course on-site.

Lumely Castle, Durham



The 600-year old Lumely Castle which overlooks the River Wear, has 73 bedrooms if you want to rent out the entire castle.

Visitors can either head to Durham or Newcastle, located between the two cities

You can even have an Elizabethan banquet, which includes bagpipes, performances and five courses with mead, for just £39 each.

Clontarf Castle, Ireland


The 12th century Irish castle is easy to get to – it's just just ten minutes from Dublin City Centre and five miles from Dublin Airport.

Guests can dine at the Fahrenheit Restaurant or have a drink at the Indigo Lounge and Knights Bar with Irish Artisan Craft beers.

It is also a much smaller hotel, with just 11 rooms.

Château Rhianfa, Wales


Located in Anglesy, Château Rhianfa is a fairytale castle popular with weddings.

Guests can walk through the Parterre Garden which leads down to the beach on the edge of the Menai Strait.

Book a room in the chateau and you get a complimentary full Welsh breakfast included.

Room start from £74 per night, or rent the full 24 bedrooms with price on request.
