‘Amazing!!!’ Lottery winner is told how much she’s won in emotional Zoom call

Care worker Vicky Channing was left crying tears of joy after winning £30,000 playing People's Postcode Lottery.

The 32-year-old, from Broad Oak, Kent, scooped the prize after her postcode, TN21 8TN, was announced as a winner.

But it wasn't until she received a Zoom call from People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Matt Johnson that she learned how much she had won.

When Matt revealed the cheque, tearful Vicky said: “Oh my God! Are you serious? Thank you so much, that’s amazing!”

Vicky plans on treating her two children, who are six and eight years old, to a trip to Disneyland when restrictions allow.

And she also has plans to splash out on an extravagant purchase for her home, which she shares with her husband.

She added: “We wanted to get a hot tub. I was going to have to work extra nights and days to save up for it and now I can actually get it, I’m so excited!“

One of the reasons Vicky plays People’s Postcode Lottery is because of the support going to good causes. She went on: “I always like to give a bit to charity, and I can’t always do all of them, so I thought this is the perfect one to do because it covers quite a few. And obviously there is always a chance of winning so that is an extra bonus on top!”

People’s Postcode Lotterycosts £10 a month to play and there are guaranteed winners every day. People play with their chosen postcode and are automatically entered into all draws.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador, Matt Johnson, said: “I’m over the moon for Vicky! A big congratulations, I hope she celebrates today and enjoys spending the cash.”

A huge 32% of ticket sales goes directly to good causes and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise over £700 million for good causes across Britain and internationally since 2005.

This draw was promoted on behalf of Unicef UK, which has received over £9.4million in funding thanks to players.
