Aussie soccer superstar Sam Kerr has flattened a pitch invader who was trying to get a selfie with an ‘AFL style’ shoulder charge.
The male spectator made his way onto the field during Chelsea’s Champions League game against Juventus, but the gun Blues striker was in no mood for a selfie.
Kerr, 28, smashed the fan, leaving him prone on the turf at Kingsmeadow in London – only for the Matildas captain to inexplicably receive a yellow card from referee Sara Persson.
The brutal on-field exchange no doubt would have put a smile on the face of her sibling Daniel Kerr, an AFL premiership winner with the West Coast Eagles.
Many Australian sports fans also compared the bump to a famous incident involving cricketer Andrew Symonds, who shoulder charged a pitch invader at the Gabba in Brisbane during a one day international versus India in 2008.

English sports journalist Molly Hudson tweeted: ‘I have never seen that at a women’s game … Pitch invader, Sam Kerr pushes him over and gets a yellow card. Bizarre.’
Football reporter Adam Millington wrote: ‘In case you needed it, even more information that Sam Kerr is an absolute legend. Probably her best moment of the past week.’
GOAL women’s football correspondent Ameé Ruszkai labelled Kerr’s bump a ‘work of art.’
Sports fan Hayley McGoldrick couldn’t believe the decision from the referee, tweeting ‘Sam Kerr is a national treasure. Fire the ref immediately.’
Another soccer fan Kate Tigs joked she ‘couldn’t breathe’ after watching the footage online.
A third said the referee was ‘clueless’ and should be stood down immediately.
Kerr’s blunt hip-and-shoulder came after she scored a classy brace to help Chelsea beat Arsenal 3-0 in the FA Cup final on Monday.
Her second goal, where she chipped the ball over rival goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger with pinpoint accuracy, was Kerr at her clinical best.
It wouldn’t go in (in the first half) but we knew it was coming,’ Kerr said at fulltime after beating the Gunners to lift the silverware.
‘We knew if we keep pushing at some point they would go in and they did.’
True to form, Kerr celebrated with the bottle of champagne awarded to her as player of the match afterwards, declaring: ‘This will go down a treat – I can’t wait to party!’
Kerr is the first Australian woman to collect an FA Cup winners’ medal at Wembley, with Craig Johnston and Harry Kewell also achieving the feat for Liverpool.
The gun striker, who finished third in the recent ballon d’or women’s standings, dates US soccer international Kristie Mewis.
