A DAD desperate to dodge paying maintenance for one of his kids sent an employee to take a paternity test, it was reported.

When the 32-year-old builder became a father for the third time, he tried to dispute paternity so hatched the cunning plan.

The German paid the 29-year-old employee – who he believed looked like – him the equivalent of around £4300 to go to a hospital to take the test, Bild reports.

All seemed to be going to plan when the stand-in tested negative as expected.

But it unravelled spectacularly when a picture of him at the Magdeburg University Clinic hospital emerged – which the child’s mother saw.

With there being a passing resemblance at best, the plot was immediately rumbled.

The bungling pair ended up in court last year when the desperate dad, known as Gordon O. under Germany’s strict privacy laws, was jailed.

He was put behind bars for 14 months for fraud and breach of maintenance obligations but has not been freed after a judge suspended the sentence.

Sidekick Sasha H. was sentenced to probation for his part in the plot.
