BOSSES think staff are less productive when working from home, a study says.

It found 80 per cent of managers reckon remote employees get away with doing less.

But 87 per cent of staff working from home claim it allows them to work equally or more efficiently.

Satya Nadella, chief exec of Microsoft, which quizzed 20,000 workers, called on companies to resolve the disagreement.

He told the BBC: “We have to get past what we describe as productivity paranoia. There is a real disconnect in terms of expectations and what workers feel.”

He thinks home offices are here to stay, backed by 15 per cent of LinkedIn adverts offering remote jobs.

That compares to two per cent of pre-Covid vacancies and a peak at 20 per cent in the pandemic.
