Camilla Parker Bowles is said to have been convinced by her friends to "go back to Charles" while she was still married to her first husband, a biographer has claimed.

The Duchess of Cornwall celebrates her birthday tomorrow (Sunday, July 17) and has been a staple member of the Royal Family ever since her marriage to Prince Charles in 2005.

Royal expert Penny Junor penned Camilla's biography back in 2017 and revealed a series of bombshell claims about the Duchess of Cornwall.

One major revelation was the claim that friends of Camilla had convinced her to go back to Prince Charles even though she was still married at the time.

Junor claims that two friends had persuaded Camilla to "go back to Charles" even though both she and future husband Charles were set to marry other people at the time.

According to the biographer, both Camilla and Charles had been close for decades, with an affair dating back to the early 1970s where the future King of England had begged Camilla not to marry her first husband, Andrew Parker Bowles.

The pair rekindled their relationship later into Camilla's marriage, but Charles was set to marry Diana – who was reportedly furious over Charles's passion for his current wife.

So much so that Diana is said to have ripped apart Charles' paintings while the two were on their honeymoon together.

Junor also alleged that the reason Camilla and Charles were not married in the first place was due to Camilla not being a virgin and not being aristocratic enough for a royal wedding.

Biographer Junor claims to have received plenty of help in writing Camilla's biography from Charles, friends of the Royal Family and even Camilla herself.
