Fauci to cash in on Covid with book on the 'TRUTH' and Disney-backed doc despite critics slamming his 'flip-flopping'

ANTHONY Fauci is releasing a book detailing the "truth" and "service" of tackling the coronavirus during the past year – and is even set to get a documentary out of his efforts.

Listed for $18 on Barnes & Noble, Fauci's novel, titled Expect the Unexpected: Ten Lessons on Truth, Service, and the Way Forward, will discuss his decades of service in the federal government and how its shaped him to tackle the pandemic.

It was also announced Fauci will be the subject of a Disney-backed documentary, according to The Washington Post, which obtained emails sent by former Disney exec Bob Iger saying he was "extremely supportive" of the project.

Documentary filmmakers followed the nation's leading infectious disease expert last year during the height of the pandemic as Fauci tackled both federal authorities and the disease. The biopic is set to be released this year.

"In his own words, world-renowned infectious disease specialist Anthony Fauci shares the lessons that have shaped his life philosophy, offering an intimate view of one of the world's greatest medical minds as well as universal advice to live by," reads the book's blurb.

"Before becoming the face of the White House Coronavirus Task Force and America’s most trusted doctor, Dr. Anthony Fauci had already devoted three decades to public service," it went on.

"Those looking to live a more compassionate and purposeful life will find inspiration in his unique perspective on leadership, expecting the unexpected, and finding joy in difficult times."

"With more than three decades spent combating some of the most dangerous diseases to strike humankind— AIDS, Ebola, COVID-19—Dr. Fauci has worked in daunting professional conditions and shouldered great responsibility," it ended.

Dr. Fauci, the nation's leading infectious disease expert, is the highest-paid US federal employee, making $417,000 a year compared to the president's $400,000.

"Sure to strike a chord with readers, the inspiring words of wisdom in this book are centered around life lessons compiled from hours of interviews, offering a concrete path to a bright and hopeful future," ended the blurb.

Fauci has regularly come under fire in recent months for sending mixed messages regarding Covid-19 protocols as the country enters a hesitant step forward with increased vaccinations and low daily cases.

He's recently been blasted for flip-flopping on whether the virus came from a lab in Wuhan, which has been seen as the more likely answer following a recent report showing three scientists from the lab were hospitalized weeks before the first coronavirus case was diagnosed.

Similarities have already been made with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's book, which was released at the height of the pandemic and was written off as a "sales disaster" per The New Republic.

The New York governor, whose book led to the revelations of a number of scandals in his administration, was paid $5.1 million for the book that sold only 45,000 copies.

"I really need the people in charge of handling this pandemic to stop writing books about how they're handling this pandemic while they're still doing it," wrote one Twitter user.
