Homeless man arrested for 'setting fire to his pants in Starbucks loo' … as staff admit they were alerted to the blaze by the stench of his undies

A HOMELESS man has been arrested after allegedly setting fire to his underwear at a Starbucks in Tallahassee, Florida.

Staff were alerted to the blaze after the cafe began to fill with smoke.

They went into the restroom and found a burning pair of underwear on the floor.

Randall S. Sullivan, 58, has been charged with one count of arson after the incident in the West Tennessee Street coffee shop.

Witnesses told police Sullivan went into the bathroom and remained there for a long time.

Another witness told police he walked into the restroom while Sullivan was in there and also saw faeces on the floor.

Employees alerted police officers outside in the car park.

Police say they found a lighter in Sullivan's pocket, and he was later transferred to Leon County Jail.
