Teen, 19, dies after being blasted in the head in Islington as cops launch murder probe

A TEEN has died after being blasted in the head in a horror shooting in North London.

The 19-year-old was discovered with a gunshot injury to his head after the bloodbath in Hornsey Rise Gardens, Islington, last night.

He was rushed to hospital but sadly couldn't be saved and was declared dead shortly after.

Police say the teen's next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem will be carried out in due course.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon and remains in custody.

A murder probe has been launched.

One horrified witnesses reported hearing a "popping sound" during the shooting.

They said: "The boy was lying on the floor, he had been shot in the face. There was another young guy arrested and in cuffs in front of us too.

"It’s a posh, it’s very middle class, leafy and very nice, you don’t get guns around here.”

The witness reported seeing some men wearing hoodies and tracksuits after the teen was gunned down.

He added: "All the neighbours are terrified, nothing like this ever happens around here.

“The paramedics were doing CPR on the floor, there was blood everywhere, they were doing it for about 30 minutes."
