Ucas deadline 2022 – when are university offers released? – The Sun

PROSPECTIVE students have just a few hours to submit their applications to British universities – as the deadline is TODAY.

Here's the latest time you can submit your application – don't miss the cut off!

When is the Ucas application deadline?

The deadline for the majority of undergraduate courses commencing in autumn 2022 is Wednesday, January 26, at 6pm UK time.

University admission services Ucas has said applicants should make sure they enter their qualifications and references correctly and leave plenty of time to complete the application.

So with the cut-off time looming you will need to take extra care.

The deadline has already passed for any courses at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, or for most courses in medicine, veterinary medicine/science, and dentistry.

This deadline was October 15, 2021, however you can add choices with a different deadline later.

Prospective students who miss the January deadline can still apply for courses – but some may be full.

The final deadline for late Ucas applications is Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 6pm.

You can still apply until September 28, 2022, 6pm – you will be entered into ‘Clearing’, which universities use to fill any leftover places.

When will universities begin to offer places?

Each university in the UK will make their decision on applications at different times.

However, there are set deadlines by which all universities need to have made their final decisions, depending on when a student sent in their application.

  • May 19, 2022: If you sent your application by January 26
  • July 14, 2022: If you sent your application by June 30
  • October 20, 2022: this is the final deadline for universities to make decisions on applications to courses starting in 2022
  • January 14, 2022: Applicants to the University of Oxford will be informed if they have been successful on .

What are the different types of offers made?

Universities and colleges can make the following decisions on student applications:

  • Conditional offer: This means the university has accepted the application, subject to meeting the entry requirements of the offer. Applicants still need to obtain certain grades in their current studies, or achieve a minimum number of Ucas points.
  • Unconditional offer: This means the application has been accepted and a place secured. Although there may still be a few things that the student will need to arrange, such as providing paperwork to confirm academic grades.
  • An unsuccessful or withdrawn choice means the university has declined the student’s application. The university is removed from the student’s options, but there is an option to add more.

How to track your application

Once a student has sent their application, they can track their status by signing into Ucas' online system, Track.

A personal ID will be sent to students in a welcome email which, when paired with their original Ucas password, will allow access to the tracking system.

When logged in students can see whether they have been made offers from universities or invited for an interview.
