2021: A year in illustration

Artists at The Age play a crucial role in presenting our journalism to readers. In 2021 they have filled our papers and website with memorable works covering a range of topics, including the pandemic, the #metoo movement, politics, and climate change.

Often, it is the work of The Age’s artists, including cartoonists Matt Golding, Cathy Wilcox and Michael Leunig and illustrators Richard Giliberto, Andrew Dyson, Jim Pavlidis and Matt Davidson, that capture an idea with unique clarity and originality.

Here are a few of their outstanding contributions to Age journalism this year.
