50 Cent’s Son Says $80,000/Year in Child Support Wasn’t Enough

50 Cent is one of the most famous rappers in America, and his net worth proves it, as he’s reportedly worth $40 million. But 50 Cent was recently called out by his eldest son for not contributing a lot to child support.

Marquise Jackson, 25, went on Instagram Live alongside rapper Choke No Joke, where he claimed that his father’s child support payments weren’t sufficient when he was growing up.

He claimed that his father paid $6,700 per month in child support, totalling $80,000 a year. But Marquise says it wasn’t enough to support the lifestyle he and his mother needed in New York.

“$6700 a month in the state of New York City? You do the math,” Marquise told Choke during the Live.

The 25-year-old implied that his father’s notoriety means they weren’t able to live in just any neighbourhood. “You’re talking about a Forbes lister, you’re talking about someone that has problems with everybody, you can’t just live in any neighborhood,” he said.

Marquise continued, “$81,000 is not a substantial amount of money. You can’t just live anywhere. You talking about you got beef with everybody in the industry, you can’t just live anywhere.”

Choke pushed back a bit, suggesting that Marquise’s mother was also responsible for providing financially for their family.

“Choke, you gotta stop comparing it. You comparing it to yourself, bro. You’re comparing it to your standard of lifestyle. You can’t do that,” Marquise responded. “I know what it feels like to have nothing, alright? I had to rebuild my life over with $6,700-a-month. $81,000-a-year.”

Marquise is 50 Cent’s eldest son, whom he shares with his ex Shaniqua Tompkins. They welcomed their son in 1996, but since then have gone through many periods of public feuding.

For example, in 2009, Shaniqua launched a $50 million lawsuit against 50 Cent, claiming he failed to make good on his promise of taking care of her for life. However, the case was dismissed, with the judge describing it as an “unfortunate tale of a love relationship gone sour.”

50 Cent also shares a 9-year-old son, Sire, with model Daphne Joy.

Unfortunately, 50 Cent has hinted that his relationship with his eldest son is unmendable, claiming that Marquise inherited his mother’s grudge against him.

“His mom developed an entitlement that cannot be met, filtering that energy through his actual personal interests,” 50 Cent said in 2020, adding, “I didn’t think that success would cost me my firstborn, but it’s the situation it is.”
