Hope is where the extra place setting is.

Perhaps Alex Rodriguez is trying to manifest Jennifer Lopez back into his life, as he set his dinner table with three additional table settings. The former slugger shared a photo of a family dinner with his two daughters, Natasha and Ella, and revealed the three empty plates, which, in theory, could be for Lopez and her two kids, Max and Emme.

“Din din with my girls! #DaddyDinnerDate 💜💚,” he captioned the Instagram photo, which showed a delicious spread of barbecued skewers, asparagus, salad, rice and more vegetables.

Despite the familial sentiment behind the photo, 16-year-old Natasha played the role of the classic teenager and sat on her phone instead of basking in the love.

The eyebrow-raising dinner table comes after the former Yankees star was said to be “shocked” by Lopez’s reunion with ex-fiancé Ben Affleck.

“He truly thought they would be able to make it work and reconnect,” a Lopez source told E! News. “He has been reaching out to J.Lo trying to meet with her and she has been very short with him.”

When later asked by a paparazzo about the “On the Floor” singer’s trip to Montana with the “Argo” star, Rodriguez ignored the loaded question and instead answered, “Go Yankees.”

Page Six exclusively revealed that Affleck, 48, and Lopez, 51, were hanging out again after her split from Rodriguez, but our sources first insisted they were just friends. After the Montana trip, however, our sources were forced to question the nature of their relationship.

Neither has publicly acknowledged their reunion.
