A clever mum has revealed how she made her family’s filthy white sneakers look brand new again.
In a post to the Mums Who Clean Facebook group, the woman, from Victoria, shared her hacks to achieve the ‘satisfying’ results.
She said she wanted to throw away her daughter’s dirty Converse trainers but after giving them a few scrubs with stain remover and soaking them in water with denture tablets, they came up sparkling clean.

‘I honestly didn’t think they’d even come up this good especially with the Converse. My daughter wouldn’t let me bin them, so had to get them done,’ the mum wrote.
She said she rinsed the shoes then scrubbed off the dirt with warm water and Vanish Oxi Action stain remover spray.
The mum left them to soak for half an hour then rinsed and scrubbed a few more times.
She then soaked them in a bucket of warm water with four denture tablets for each pair of shoes.
Once the the dirt stains were ‘mostly gone’, she put them in the washing machine on a cycle with some clothes and normal detergent or powder then left them to dry in the sun.

With a bit of ‘hard work’ the grimy trainers came out looking so good some group members in the comments thought the mum had ‘photoshopped’ the results.
‘I need to know what type of sorcery this is without having to buy new shoes!’ one woman said while another wrote: ‘That is unbelievable!’
‘These photos have to have been done in reverse. I’ve used every trick in the book and they never come out like this. Ever,’ commented a sceptic.
Others shared their own tips and tricks for cleaning white sneakers.
‘I get mine the same by using Vanish soap and a nail brush. Give them a good amount of soap, five minute scrub then into a 40C wash,’ a member suggested.
‘I use toothpaste on my shoes and they come out bright white!! Just wet the shoe, Apply (white) toothpaste, use an old toothbrush to rub it in and let them sit for an hour or so then wash as normal,’ a second explained.
