Billy Idol becomes US citizen
Looks like someone has a fashion Idol.
When Billy Idol, 67, accepted his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last week he was dressed in his signature rocker style — and so was his two-year-old granddaughter, Poppy Rebel Sable, who stole the show with her adorable punk look.
The toddler —whose mother is Bonnie Blue Sable, Idol’s daughter by Linda Mathis — rocked a black ruffled dress with white ribbon accents along with pink floral tights and matching pink Dr. Marten boots ($65).
She added a silver heart locket necklace and coordinating pink heart sunglasses for her punk princess look, posing on the red carpet at the event both by herself and with her family — including baby sister Mary Jane, who sported her own pink Dr. Martens.
Recently, Idol honored the late Vivienne Westwood, tweeting, “RIP it will take me a bit to take this in…” about the famed British fashion designer, and his edgy look at the Walk of Fame ceremony surely would have been one to make her proud.
The “Mony Mony” singer sported all-black for the event, wearing a dress shirt and coordinating trousers with an asymmetric black skirt of sorts draping down one side, topping off the outfit with a black leather motorcycle jacket accented with silver chains and a silver statement ring.
“You are the best. Quite simply, I’m here today because of you, because of your love,” Idol told the crowd during the ceremony. “You supported me all this time. Forty-seven years now I’ve been doing this.”
The “Rebel Yell” singer spoke about being a grandpa to People TV in 2021, sharing that after welcoming a baby into the family during the COVID-19 pandemic, “it was lovely to have Poppy sort of redressing the balance a little bit and showing us all the positive things about life.”
After such a stylish debut, we’re hoping to see more of little Poppy as she forms her own “Rebel” style in the future.
