The perfect time to go hunting for iPhone deals is Black Friday.

The late-November sale is the busiest, craziest point in the deals calendar, and it's then that you'll find the top offers on iPhone contracts and SIM-free handsets alike.

  • Apple deals – shop at Amazon

Apple isn't exactly what we'd call a deal-friendly brand, and price drops across any of its products – from iPhones to iMacs to Airpods – aren't at all frequent.

But Black Friday is a time that we always see a wave of impressive new contracts on lots of iPhones, and some discounts on the SIM-free handsets too.

The likely star of this year's Black Friday will be the iPhone 13.

Last year's release has just been supplanted by the all-new iPhone 14, and with it will likely come a floodwave of cheaper contract prices on the older phone.

But if you're looking for an iPhone that's even cheaper, it's definitely worth looking back to the previous generation and see what iPhone 11 and 12 deals are on offer too.

Whatever the model, our suggestion is that you bookmark this page, as we'll be keeping it updated with the very best offers across the entire iPhone range as the day unrolls.

Are there Black Friday deals on the iPhone 13?

Black Friday is months away yet, but we're going to make an educated guess that yes, the iPhone 13 will appear in the sales this year.

After, last year's flagship will have been then been supplanted by the iPhone 14, which is due for a September 2022 release.

No longer top-of-the-line, the iPhone 13 will undoubtedly be a whole lot more affordable.

There were a few iPhone 13 deals available last year: retailers including Virgin Media, Three, and Carphone Warehousegave away a free pair of AirPods/AirPods Pro with their iPhone 13 plans.

But if you're more interested in genuinely low monthly rates, it's in 2022 that these will start to appear.

When is Black Friday?

This year, Black Friday is taking place today, November 26 – as is always the way, that's the day after U.S. Thanksgiving.

Black Friday, after all, was always an American sales day until it picked up in popularity in the UK around a decade ago.

And whether you love it or hate it, it's now an integral part of the pre-Christmas madness.

One thing we always remind readers is that Black Friday is far, far more than just a day-long sale – these days, you'll find deals online throughout the entirety of November.

Indeed, in the last few years we've seen retailers kick off early-bird sales in October, such as Carphone Warehouse's wave of 'Why Wait?' deals.

That said, it's generally not until the week of Black Friday itself that the very best offers and price drops appear online.

When is Cyber Monday and will Apple be taking part?

Cyber Monday is – unsurprisingly – directly after the weekend that follows Black Friday.

With retailers each to catch buyers when they've still got deals on their mind, Cyber Monday always takes place on the other side of the weekend that follows Black Friday.

Apple itself rarely takes part in the sale itself – but don't despair, you'll still find plenty of exceptional iPhone deals from UK network providers like Fonehouse, Affordable Mobiles, Mobiles.co.uk, Carphone Warehouse, and more.

That said, these retailers aren't likely to save all their deals until then: we suggest you keep an eye on this page for great deals on the iPhone 12, iPhone 11 and others in the range from the beginning of Black Friday week (November 21).

When will Black Friday iPhone deals start?

The Black Friday sale officially kicks off today, November 26.

When will Black Friday iPhone deals end?

The Black Friday sale usually goes right through to Cyber Monday on November 29.

If you're looking for a bargain, make sure you get your order in by then so you don't miss out.

What to expect from Black Friday iPhone deals

With the imminent release of the iPhone 14, we expect to see a major impact on the prices of the preceding generations of iPhone.

The iPhone 13 will likely become a whole lot more affordable once it's knocked off the flagship perch – our guess is that we'll start to see monthly rates on genuinely decent data offerings fall to around the £32 to £34 mark.

But to an extent, it's the iPhone 12 we're much more excited about -yes, it will be two generations old (shock horror), but we reckon you'll see some fab offers and it could almost be considered a budget iPhone.

As you can read in our Tech Editor Sean Keach's iPhone 12 review, this is a superb handset that offered users a huge range of new capabilities.

It'll be Fonehouse, Affordable Mobiles, Mobiles.co.uk and Carphone Warehouse that are likely to lead with the best deals today and over the weekend.

And if you want to check out great deals on handsets from Samsung, Sony, Huawei and others, head to our pick of the best Black Friday phone deals here.

How much does the iPhone 12 cost on Black Friday?

We can't be certain, but let's take a look at current prices on this 2020 handset.

How to get the best deals on an iPhone this Black Friday

The great thing about Black Friday is that nearly every retailer takes part – and they're all competing for your custom.

Make sure you shop around, rather than settling for the first deal you see.

But you also need to work quickly, since Black Friday is such a popular sales day. Start as early in the morning as you can so you get ahead of the competition.

What's the best iPhone right now?

The latest Apple release will be the iPhone 14, which is due for a launch in September 2022. Details aren't yet confirmed, but you can bet your bottom dollar it will sport a cutting-edge array of features and specs.

However, we always suggest that you don't get to flagship-fixated: the iPhone 13 remains a spectacular smartphone, and honestly, the 12 and 11 are still mighty fine handsets.

Is Black Friday a good time to buy a new iPhone?

Absolutely! You'll find big, big savings across a range of iPhone models on Black Friday.

That means you can invest in a fantastic iPhone that has all the minutes, text and data you need, plus a fast processor and great camera, but without breaking the bank.

What Black Friday iPhone deals were in the sale last year?

Last year, the focus was very much on the iPhone 12 as it has just lost its status as Apple's top-of-the-range smartphone.

We saw prices drop to as low as £30p/m for certain iPhone 12 tariffs, admittedly with smaller data offerings.

Better still were some of the slashed prices on iPhone 11 plans, which had almost – almost – become a budget handset (though not quite, after all this is Apple we're talk about).

Do Apple products go on sale on Black Friday?

Yes. Apple products go on sale via retailers and mobile networks during the period.

Apple doesn’t usually launch a ‘Black Friday’ sale itself, although it tends to unveil an exclusive Apple event which can mean discounts.

Previously savings have been for existing Apple users looking to trade-in for upgrades.

Who has the best Black Friday deals on iPhones?

Phone deals are always subjective – some people prioritise low monthly costs; others want to pay as little upfront as possible; others still are after data boosts.

Whatever's most important to you, we suggest you take a look at this selection of leading retailers:

  • Fonehouse – here
  • Mobiles.co.uk – here
  • Carphone Warehouse – here
  • Affordable Mobiles – here

Don’t forget to check network-specific deals from the likes of Three, O2, EE and Vodafone.

Is the iPhone 12 Pro Max on sale on Black Friday?

Yes, it is.

This ruling handset is soon to be knocked off the throne by its equivalent in the iPhone 13 range, and prices are likely to quickly fall.

Currently costing a hefty £1,049 on Argos, this won't become a cheap handset… but with any luck, a little bit cheaper.

In fact, while you cannot save too much on the phone itself, many phone operators are already slashing prices on a number of deals.
