As much as we were hooked on the storylines featured in the show, we can’t get over the superb costumes, they’re a real treat to the viewers eyes especially if you are into fashion

After the show aired on Netflix, according to search data from eBay UK searches for items increased dramatically.

For example, there was 2201% more searches for ‘yellow dress’ than ‘pale blue dress’ on eBay, both inspired by Bridgerton’s dramatic Regency gowns which were designed by costume designer Ellen Mirojnick.

It has been hinted that we could expect to see eight seasons of the hit show after it’s huge success and there being eight books in Julia Quinn’s series of the novels.

So of course, some detective fans went back to look for some clues of what is to come in the second series.

One thing that was picked out was the special attention to all the bumblebee and insect references.

  • Inside Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor’s off-screen style — and it’s just as classy as Daphne’s

The bumblebee could be a reference to either the father of the Bridgerton household, who in the books fatally died from a bee sting but we don’t hear about in the show.

On the other hand, it could be a symbolic representation of what the bee stands for, such as belonging in a community, strength and resourcefulness.

Bees produce sweet food, honey, yet they have a wicked sting, could this be linked back to some of the characters?

Butterflies are one of the most beautiful and delicate insects, so when we saw this embellished on the front of Penelope Featherington’s yellow ball gown it made total sense as to why it may have been placed there.

Penelope is trying to break out into society and flourish whilst lusting after one of the Bridgerton boys.

The butterflies could also be a simple hint to how all of the cast are social butterflies as they attend various balls and events throughout the series.

  • Where exactly Bridgerton is filmed and why you recognise some of the locations

When it comes to the colours of the costumes, they were specially chosen as a form of representation.

The Bridgerton family are alway seen in soft, pastel colours as a symbol of their comfort within society.

However, the Featherington’s are dressed in much louder tones as a sign to be noticed as Lady Portia Featherington pressures her daughters to find a man to take her hand.

The level of detail and design behind the costumes are undoubtedly some of the best we’ve seen in recent years and we can’t wait to see what other intricate designs are on the horizon.

Keep your eyes peeled for more hidden symbols throughout the series…
