Boris Johnson’s fiancé Carrie Symonds cut a casual figure as she headed out for a stroll with their son Wilfred today.

Ms Symonds, 33, was stylishly dressed in a camel coat, floral dress and black leather boots as she pushed Wilfred’s pram through central London this morning.

The mother-of-one, who is director of communications at the Aspinall Foundation, appeared to be chatting on the phone as she enjoyed the spring sunshine.

The outing came just hours before the Prime Minister, 56, mounted a furious defence after coming under fire over leaked private texts in which he promised Sir James Dyson he would ‘fix’ a tax rule so the tycoon’s staff could help make ventilators for the NHS.

Mr Johnson roared back as he was berated by Keir Starmer over ‘sleaze’ at PMQs, saying he made ‘no apology’ for pulling out all the stops at the height of the crisis.

The premier said he had been moving ‘heaven and earth’ to get as many ventilators as possible amid dire warnings the health service would be overwhelmed with patients who needed them.

Carrie and Boris, who announced their engagement in February 2020, have not yet announced a wedding date but have reportedly started planning.

Among Carrie’s bridesmaids is expected to be Emma Barr, a former government special adviser who was signed up this month as a producer for the soon-to-launch television channel GB News.

‘Emma will be a bridesmaid,’ a Downing Street source told the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden. ‘She’s a great friend of Carrie and, most importantly, super-loyal.’

Barr, who would often be seen carrying the Prime Minister’s dog, Dilyn, on the campaign trail at the last general election, is keen to play down suggestions that she’s already been chosen.

She worked as a Tory press officer under Carrie and has publicly accused her critics of ‘jealousy’, gushing: ‘She was a wonderful boss and has always gone out of her way to support me.’

Like couples across the UK, Boris and Carrie will have to contend with Covid-19 restrictions if they plan to wed this spring.
