Celebs Go Dating and Frankie Cocozza

During their first split Charlotte joined the cast of Celebs Go Dating as a singleton looking for love, and her raucous behaviour was picked up on by the dating experts on the E4 dating reality show.

They said she was "sabotaging herself", and Charlotte confessed the reasons behind her actions was due to her heartbreak over Matt.

"I was so in love with him, I gave my heart and my soul but it just wasn't enough, it still didn't work," she said of her then ex.

"That's why I overdo things, because I just want to be loved."

Fellow famous singleton and former X Factor star Frankie Cocozza also appeared, and by the end of the series three at the final mixer the pair made their feelings clear for each other.

But by the time the show had aired, the pair were already over as Charlotte jetted off to Greece to celebrate her birthday with her pals and Frankie was no where to be seen.

Reunited and moved in together

Eight months after Matt called time on his relationship with Charlotte, the couple rekindled their romance.

They went on to buy their first home together, and then after settling in to and renovating the property from top to bottom the couple were faced with Frankie once more in December 2018 on Your Face Or Mine.

The pair were left cringing at the unexpected arrival of Charlotte’s ex, and said she had been riddled with fear about how Matt would react, despite the fact they are very open about their exes.

But she didn't need to worry as Frankie had firmly moved on saying on the Jimmy Carr hosted show, that he and Charlotte were never really in love and only dated for "20 minutes".

"We did like each other but the situation we were in was intense. I love Charlotte and I think she’s great," Frankie added.

Celebs Go Dating couples therapy

After living together for just over a year, Charlotte and Matt signed up to appear on Celebs Go Dating to iron out their issues.

By the time the show had finished airing in March 2020, it was believed the couple had split up once again as the Sun reported that Matt called time on their relationship leaving her "heartbroken"

However Charlotte confirmed to OK! magazine this wasn't the case: "That was rubbish. We’d had an argument and I’d stayed at my mum’s house for a few days to have a breather. We didn’t split up, we own a house together!"

And Charlotte said the biggest problem they faced when in therapy: "Lack of communication. We were both so busy and not spending much time together."

Matt agreed adding: "We worked through it and came out stronger."

“This just feels like perfect timing,” Charlotte told OK! and Matthew said: “We’re both ready for this next chapter. We’ve got a house and we’ve been together for four years. It feels right.”
