Being a pop star, it seems you’re expected to regularly change up your beauty looks. Take Katy Perry, who regularly flits between blonde and brunette hair, or Jennifer Lopez, who recently wowed fans with incredible thigh-length extensions.

And Demi Lovato is no different. Back in November, she stunned with long waves down to her waist for the E! People’s Choice Awards, before chopping them all off into an edgy blonde crop, complete with shaved undercut, just two days later.

But Demi’s latest ‘do might just be her most bold yet. Taking to Instagram, the Skyscraper singer showed off a short, mushroom-shaped crop, dyed pink on top, with shaved sides showing a flash of her natural dark brown hair colour.

The 28-year-old was obviously such a fan of the look – in which she tagged hairstylist Amber Maynard Bolt – that she quickly made it her Instagram profile picture.

And Demi’s fans – who call themselves “Lovatics” – were quick to compliment the star on her statement look.

“Okay I love this hair!!!!!” wrote one, while influencer Iskra Lawrence commented: “Well we already knew but just to confirm… Can pull anything off.”

But this isn’t the first time the Grammy Award nominee has experimented with pink hair. Back in 2012 she added candy-coloured tips to long blonde locks, and then again in 2014 she rocked a grungy look, with pink lengths and dark roots.

And fans are clearly so obsessed with this hair colour on her that they have created their own name for it – “Pinkvato”.

“Pinkvato is back I’m crying,” one excited fan remarked underneath Demi’s latest photo.

“Yesss we got Pinkvato back,” cheered another.

While we don’t recommend attempting a permanent dramatic colour change like this yourself, if you fancy experimenting with a temporary pink hue while salons are shut, here’s how to do it…
