Most of the senior royals from Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and Princess Eugenie all have Instagram accounts. The Royal Family also has an official Twitter account that documents all the engagements the working members of the institution undertake week by week. Each account has millions of followers to connect with fans, share official portraits, and update their followers on their charity work and engagements.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were the first royals to really take advantage of their Instagram account.

They amassed 10.1 million followers and worked with beautiful aesthetics to make their page look professional and fun.

Since Harry and Meghan stepped back as senior royals, the other senior members of the family have massively improved their social media performances.

The Royal Family:

The official Instagram account for the Royal Family has 10.3 million followers, and their Twitter account has 4.6 million followers.

This page shares various photos and videos of the work and activities of the Queen and many other members of the family.

They will often re-post information from other individual accounts within the family, and also highlight the work of the royals who do not use Instagram or Twitter.

For instance, Princess Anne and the Earl and Countess of Wessex do not use individual accounts.

So any royal engagements carried out by these members of the family will be posted by the official Royal Family accounts.

Clarence House:

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall have an Instagram account under the name of their official residence, Clarence House, which currently has 1.5 million followers.

They also operate a Twitter account with a million followers, publishing details about their royal engagements with accompanying pictures and videos.

The Duchess of Cornwall also has a separate Instagram account under the name of ‘The Reading Room’, which is Camilla’s latest initiative to encourage more people to read especially during the lockdowns.

This is a growing account with 116,000 followers currently.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge:

William and Kate’s official Instagram account has an amazing 13 million followers, which they use to also document their royal engagements.

However, Kate has melted everyone’s hearts by posting adorable photos of her children who are growing up in front of the nation’s eyes.

Just recently she posted a picture of Prince George for his eighth birthday, which received 1.3 million likes.

The t-shirt Prince George is seen wearing immediately sold out on the John Lewis website, showing the power the Duchess of Cambridge has to influence the fashion market on her Instagram.

The royal couple also has a Twitter account, which has 2.2 million followers under the name Kensington Royal, named after their official residence Kensington Palace.

Princess Eugenie:

Although not a senior member of the Royal Family, Princess Eugenie has become a very popular figure on Instagram.

Her Instagram account has 1.5 million followers, which she uses to share personal pictures of her husband Jack Brooksbank and her baby August.

Princess Eugenie also posts on her Instagram story like any other social media user.

This could be her supporting England during the Euro 2020 final or even wishing her mum Fergie a happy birthday.
