If you’re a sucker for a good wedding, you need to go and watch the second volume of the highly anticipated Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan right now.
While at a first glance it may look like something from a million dollar budget film, let us assure you that it’s not. But then again, we wouldn’t expect anything less from royalty.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot on the 19 May 2018, and though the whole nation tuned in to watch the lavish ceremony (including that iconic kiss at the top of the stairs at St. George’s Chapel), the cameras were denied access to the after celebrations.
That is until now.
Episode four features a relatively large segment on the wedding, specifically the reception that was hosted as St. George’s Hall. Showing black and white snaps of the newlyweds arriving, the shot then cuts to the pair reminiscing on the incredible occasion.
“We cut our cake with a sword,” they laughed.
“I mean it was great,” Meghan gushed. “It was all so over-the-top, and people were just like ‘what is happening’”
“Elton John's performing,” she continued, before remembering that she couldn’t get to her mum because “she was beelined to the stage just watching Elton sing.”
When talking about their first dance, Meghan insisted that she didn’t want it to be serious.
“I really wanted the music to be fun, even our first dance,” she said.
Despite being able to recall the right title of the song – “the song of a thousand dances? What is it? I always get it wrong,” she joked – it was obvious that the former Suits actor was looking back on the day with pure joy.
Of course, the song is actually called Land of 1000 Dances by Wilson Pickett, but that’s besides the point. Meghan then began to sing the lyrics as Harry nodded and smiled, as the episode cut to black and white and coloured photographs of the pair dancing.
During the slideshow of snaps, there was also a shot of Meghan dancing with Elton John plus stills of their friends and family enjoying their special day.
“I was just spinning like a whirlwind, it was so great,” the 41 year old added.
One one of Meghan's close friends, Lucy Fraser then made an appearance in a Kardashian-style confessional.
“It was just brilliant,” she said. “It was how every wedding should be.”
