I won my dream £148k BMW and £50,000 in cash from a £4 raffle ticket… here's the generous way I splashed the cash | The Sun

A TAXI driver has told how he won his dream car and £50,000 in cash from a £4 raffle ticket.

Aamer Mahmood, from Yorkshire, scooped the whopping sum as well as a £148,000 BMW after entering an online competition.

He arrived at the Stratstone dealership in Derby to pick up his last customer of the day, only to find the brand-new car and cash prize waiting for him.

The 41-year-old, from Wakefield, was greeted by BOTB presenter Christian Williams who had gone the extra mile to surprise him after sneakily pre-booking him as a taxi fare.

Aamer said: “I was in that much shock I was struggling to pick my words.

“My wife asked me the other day if I believed in miracles and I said I did and this proves they do happen. This is life-changing.”

He also told of the generous way he splashed his cash the night he won.

Aamer explained: “It has been a bit mad since I found out. The night I won, over 50 people came to my house and I had to order enough food for everybody.”

The BMW XM features a V8 hybrid engine, 644bhp and a top speed of 168mph.

He said: “This car is stunning – it is on the next level.

“One of the builders who has been working on my house bought the normal electric version and because I loved it I made a video. But I wanted one better than him and I can't believe I have actually managed to do it.

“£50,000 is also a lot of money. You can probably go around the world and have an amazing time.”

It comes after a councillor told exactly how he will spend his cash after scooping £286,000 on the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Anthony McMullen, 33, won the whopping jackpot in Tyne and Wear earlier this week – but says he won’t be splashing the cash on luxuries.

He says he will remain a councillor for Weetslade and won’t be giving up his day job as software engineer.
