I'm worried my partner's ex makes a move on him when he visits the kids

DEAR DEIDRE: MY partner sleeps on his ex-girlfriend’s sofa when he goes to visit his son.

I am worried she is going to make a move on him one night.

Before I met him, my husband got this ex-girlfriend pregnant.

Their relationship didn’t last very long.

But he stayed in contact with her because he really wanted to be a good father.

Earlier this year, she moved to Glasgow, which means the only way that he is able to see his boy is by staying there overnight.

It’s really expensive, so she’s said he can kip on her sofa.

I’m 30 and he’s 35. We’ve been together for 18 months.

He broke up with his ex, who is 32, three years ago. His son is now two.

I know she isn’t happy about our relationship. She’s always messaging and calling him.

He says he loves me and that I should trust him to be faithful. But I don’t trust her at all.

DEIDRE SAYS: Your boyfriend’s reasons for staying with his ex are practical ones.

But I understand your insecurity.

Talk to him about your feelings and say you need to agree to boundaries so that you feel reassured.

If he loves you, he will listen to your concerns and make it clear to his ex that he is with you now, and only interested in seeing his son.
