A beauty influencer who forked out £3,500 to get her teeth done in Turkey has shared the stark warning she got from her dentist.

Jak Reid from Renfrewshire, Scotland paid for new white crowns, accommodation and flights to the holiday destination before sharing her transformation with her 70,000 TikTok followers.

But not everyone was pleased with her transformation as she later shared a clip of her dentist reacting to her new teeth, writing: "My dentist reacting to my Turkey teeth. Bless her she was very sweet."

In the video, the dentist tells her: "I’m just going to say this, I know you’re not going to want to hear this. A lot of tissue has been been removed here.

"The risk of having problems is very high. There’s not much else you can go from here apart from implants if something happens."

Ms Reid added: "This was my lovely dentist giving me advice, my teeth are fine. I knew going into this the risks."

She claimed some critics called her a "wee girl" with "no brain" for having the procedure done, and others branded her "silly".

Another wrote: "I'm a dental nurse and what the dentist is saying is correct. Turkey teeth do not last long term, soon as there are problems people want it fixed on NHS."

And a third added: "I’ve been in dentistry over 12 years and crowns/veneers abroad is the worst thing you can do.

"Hope you have no problems with yours".

Ms Reid said: "I’ve had veneers for 6-7 years. I have five years warranty for breakdown and damage. If you take proper care, they can last 15-25 years."

She added: "I already had root canals on my front teeth. I researched places for two years. My teeth weren’t actually healthy.

"I already had root canal in the front teeth and I already had veneers, so I didn’t actually ruin healthy teeth. My teeth were already f*****."
