Inside Harry and Meghan’s secret visit to the Queen – from when they arrived to who was there

Prince Harry andMeghan Markle made a secretvisit to see the Queen as they head to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games.

The couple, who have been living in California since stepping back from their duties as senior royals in March 2020, made the visit on Thursday while en route to Holland.

And according to reports, it’s not just theQueen who the couple saw on their whistle stop trip.

As stated by theDaily Mail, it’s believed that Meghan and Harry also made a visit to seePrince Charles, who had been at Windsor to stand in for the Queen at the Royal Maundy service.

Though the details of the meeeting remain shrouded in secrecy,The Sun reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted at Windsor Castle by a coach-load of visitors who were attending the Royal Maundy service.

Speaking to the publication, an onlooker said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw who it was. We waved and they waved back.

“They looked happy and relaxed and waved to everyone on the bus. Charles and the Queen were at Windsor Castle at the same time so they must have met them both.

“It was quite the sight. We knew we might see Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall at the ceremony but never believed we would bump into Harry and Meghan.”

During the stop over, it’s rumoured that the couple made themselves at home and stayed at their former Windsor residence, Frogmore Cottage, after arriving on Wednesday.

Since leaving the UK, the family home – which is where Harry got down on one knee – has welcomed new residents in the form of Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their son August.

Harry and Meghan aren’t believed to have brought their children Archie, two, and 10 month old Lilibet – whom the Queen has never met – with them.

Despite Harry’s big move to California, Eugenie has remained close to her cousin andwas claimed to be “breaking ranks” after she was pictured alongside the duke at this year’s Super Bowl.

The low profile visit comes after Harry last returned to the UK in July 2021 to unveil a statue of his late mother, Princess Diana.

Following the quick stop off in the UK,Meghan and Harry are set to attend the Invictus Games in Holland which are due to kick off this weekend.
