DEAR DEIDRE: AFTER two failed marriages to abusive women, I’ve now met a man who is right for me. I’m a 51-year-old male.
I’m quiet and a big softie but my bad relationships have taken their toll on me. I was abused by my first wife.
Any argument would end up with her throwing things at me.
My second wife was controlling and mentally abusive, and she did me a favour when she cheated on me.
I started chatting to people online last year and a man popped into my messages.
We met for a beer and seemed to click instantly.
We’ve developed an amazing relationship and we’re getting married next year. It seems quick but I know it’s right. He’s 45.
I told my parents and they were absolutely horrified.
My mother says it’s disgusting. She says she doesn’t understand gay relationships.
