For the past year and a half, makeup has been MIA from many folks’ everyday routines.

After all, what’s the point of swiping on that matte lipstick only to cover it up with a face mask? And why apply foundation when you can simply “touch up” your face on Zoom?

But with more of us venturing out into the world (and off to the office) again, that’s all about to change — and fortunately, there are some pretty great makeup trends bubbling up for fall.

We spoke with Mario Dedivanovic — founder of Makeup by Mario and the man, myth and legend behind Kim Kardashian’s best beauty looks — about the ones that are on his radar.

“Fall is the time to bump up the barely-there, minimal makeup routines from summer to more elevated, pulled-together looks,” Mario told Page Six Style. “As we approach the holidays, think richer, bolder colors on eyes and lips.”

What’s more, Makeup by Mario recently released its Master Blade Brow Pencil ($22), Master Hold Brow Gel ($20) and Soft Pop Powder Blush ($24) — three products that’ll get your look autumn-ready.

“Last fall, the spotlight was on skincare, which evolved into the healthy, glowing skin trend we’re seeing now,” he said. “This year, color is making a major comeback, but makeup infused with skincare ingredients will definitely be on trend.”

Mario believes in investing in products that are “timeless, work well for you regardless of the season and make you feel great.” So he shared the five top makeup trends worth trying this season — and we provided some product suggestions to help you flawlessly achieve each one.

1. Full, natural-looking brows

“I’m a big fan of this one since I love brows that are full, feathered and not overly filled in,” Mario said. “For a while, the trend was a very unnatural, harsh brow, so this is a welcome change for me since I like makeup that softens the face.”

The Master Blade Brow Pencil ($22) and Master Hold Brow Gel ($20) can easily help recreate his signature brow technique for fuller, more youthful-looking brows, too.

Other products:

  • Too Faced Pomade In a Pencil Eyebrow Shaper & Filler ($23)
  • E.l.f. Wow Brow Gel ($4)
  • Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil Waterproof Eyebrow Definer ($24)

2. Soft, matte lips

“Everyone’s looking forward to getting back into their favorite lip shades, and a soft matte finish is beautiful for fall,” he said. “Comfort is key, though; we’ve grown accustomed to feeling comfortable in everything from the clothes we wear to the makeup formulas we choose, and lipstick shouldn’t be the exception.”

The limited-edition Makeup by Mario Pro Volume Lip Gloss ($22) will help you create a multidimensional mauve shine — either on its own or paired with a liner and lipstick.

Other products:

  • NARS Audacious Lipstick in Raquel ($34)
  • BareMinerals Mineralist Lip Gloss Balm ($20)
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in Dead Roses ($18)

3. Mauve tones

“A gorgeous, dusty mauve shade is pretty whether worn on eyes, cheeks or lips — or as a monochromatic look,” Mario said. “Try using my Soft Pop Powder Blush ($24) in Mellow Mauve for a soft mauve makeup vibe.”

Other products:

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette ($45)
  • Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix Eye, Cheek & Lip Cream Pigment ($18)
  • Buxom Nothing But The Besties Plumping Lip Gloss Set ($25)

4. Blush draping

“I like any technique that softly sculpts and enhances the face and is a nod to ’70s makeup,” he said. “Draping is essentially contouring with blush versus traditional contour or bronzer products.”

To recreate this trend at home, he recommends trying a cream blush like his Soft Pop Blush Stick ($28) for a more natural, luminous interpretation.

Other products:

  • NARS Blush in Orgasm ($30)
  • Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush in Love Glow ($40)
  • Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Baby-Pink Blush ($30)

5. Lightly tinted skin

“Fresh, glowy, summer skin is transitioning into the fall months,” Mario said. “I love tinted moisturizers and skin tints that even out your skin tone without looking too heavy.”

To achieve this your-skin-but-better look, try IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ ($39.50), BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid and Mineral SPF 30 ($33) or Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint ($29.50) — the latter of which featured in a recent episode of Page Six Style’s “Style Trial” series.
