'Love Island' to 'The Bachelorette': Which Dating Shows Are the Most Successful?

If you want to find love, reality tv may not be the best place to do it. However, if you do find yourself in front of cameras trying to find the one, all is not lost. There are some reality shows that have incredibly high success rates, while others may have high viewership but less successful relationships. So, from Love Island to The Bachelor, which reality show should you go on to find your forever partner?

‘Love Island’

If you’re going to go on Love Island, your chances at staying in love seem to greatly depend on what country you are in. The Love Island US series hasn’t had any couples stand the test of time, despite having two seasons. The UK version, on the other hand, has had quite a bit of success. According to SlotsUp, 10 of the final 43 couples are still together and some are even married. Season 2 winners Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey have two children together and season 3 finalists Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt just welcomed their baby girl into the world last year. Love Island Australia had an outcome similar to the American version, with only one couple, Amelia Plummer and Josh Moss, still together out of two seasons.

‘Love is Blind’

Love is Blind has only had one season but that season was about as successful as it could get. In fact, its success rate is higher than Love Island‘s. The show featured couples who met blindly and after ten days of chatting without ever seeing each other, decided if they wanted to get engaged. Now, over a year later, three of the final six couples are still together. 50 percent is a pretty high success rate for a first season.

’90 Day Fiancé’

90 Day Fiancé is a different kind of dating show than the rest on this list as couples come on the show already in pairs. While on the show, the couples have 90 days to get married or the non-US resident member of the relationship has to go back to their home country. Most of the couples on the show do end up getting married. Over 50% of the couples are still together now, with many of them going on to be part of 90 Day Fiancé spin-offs like Happily Ever After and What Now.

‘The Bachelor’ has a much lower success rate than ‘Love Island’ UK

The Bachelor has a pretty low success rate. Only one Bachelor, Sean Lowe, is married to the woman he gave his final rose to, Catherine Giudici. Jason Mesnick originally gave his final rose to Melissa Rycroft but then reconnected with his runner-up Molly Malaney and the two got married. Arie Luyendyk Jr. did the same thing and ended up marrying his runner-up, Lauren Burnham. Matt James is currently dating his winner, Rachael Kirkconnell. The Bachelorette has a higher success rate with five of the final couples still together, Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried, JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers, Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo, Clare Crawley and Dale Moss, and Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark. Bachelor in Paradise has also had some success. After six seasons, six couples are still together; Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert, Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon, Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk, Astrid Loch and Kevin Wendt, Caelynn Miller-Keyes and Dean Unglert, and Hannah Godwin and Dylan Barbour.
