Maura Higgins just borrowed Ariana Grande’s signature sleek half-updo

In hair news from the week, Maura Higgins has just debuted our favourite style of the month (we'd even go as far as to say of the summer, actually). Seemingly taking inspiration from Ariana Grande, the former Love Island star poses for a new Instagram Story snap with hair so shiny you could see your reflection on it.

Her long brunette lengths have also been pulled back into a thick half ponytail while her roots and mid-lengths have been slicked back to perfection.

The gorgeous style comes thanks to Maura's BFF and go-to hairstylist Carl Bembridge, who, coincidentally, has also been doing Ariana's hair in recent months, so we wonder if the singer inspired him to recreate her updo on Maura.

If you're anything like us, you'll have instantly looked at the picture of star and gone 'yep, I'll be creating that at home this weekend'. Thankfully, to help us nail the updo, Carl lists the very product he used to create this glossy half pony: ColorWow's Extra Mist-ical Shine Spray, £26 here – described by experts as a 'ring light' for your hair.

This pretty new hair look comes after the star cut off all her hair in a dramatic ‘Pulp Fiction’ bob transformation for the Creed 3 premiere back in February (quite the big news at the time!).

You don’t even need to have seen the movie to understand this comparison because Uma Thurman’s fringe and below-the-ear chop is still an iconic look nearly 30 years on from the film’s release. Maura, however, added extra glamour to the short cut with plenty of tousled texture and smoky eyeshadow that really boosted the overall drama of the look.

Fans, of course, were delighted to see Maura with the very different length, and plenty of them took to the comment section of the post to share their thoughts on the style.

“Liz Hurley eat your heart out,” commented one, while a second said: “Of course she can pull off her bob.”

A third complimented Maura’s Carl – yes, he also did this look – for his work: “Dream hair yet again by @carlbembridgehair literally the hairdressing god. When you know you’ve made it.”

Well one thing is confirmed, Maura really does look amazing with every single hair look. Oh, and Carl certainly can work wonders with a shine spray and a comb!
