McDonald's is doing 99p McMuffins and £1.79 Big Macs – but only for tomorrow

MCDONALD’S is slashing the price of McMuffins and Big Macs – but only for tomorrow to mark the England v Scotland Euro 2020 game.

The fast-food chain will be selling McMuffins for 99p, saving customers £1 from the usual £1.99 price tag.

Meanwhile, Big Macs will cost just £1.79 tomorrow – £1.70 less than what customers would normally pay at £3.49.

The chain is rolling back prices for these two menu favourites to what they were 25-years-ago in 1996.

This is when the England and Scotland football teams last played each other in an international tournament.

The discounts will last for Friday only – the day when the two sides face each other again at Wembley Stadium.

To get the deal, you will need to order the McMuffin or Big Mac through the McDonald’s App rather than via a kiosk or at the till.

You can get the offer whether you’ve had the app for a minute or for years but new users will need to download it and register an account.

You can then open the app tomorrow and go to the deals section where you’ll see the McMuffin or Big Mac offer available.

You then need to click on the item and it will be addedto your basket so you can then checkout.

You can add other items to your basket from the regular menu in the app separately too.

Note that the McDonald’s breakfast menu runs from 6am to 11am with opening times varying from branch to branch.

This means you will only be able to get the discounted McMuffin before 11am and the discounted Big Mac after 11am.

You’ll be able to get the reduced price in most McDonald’s restaurants in the UK except for a handful listed below. This includes drive-thru and delivery.

Price do vary from branch to branch, but McMuffins and Big Macs will cost 99p and £1.79 in all participating stores.

This means the saving you make could be bigger or smaller than £1 or £1.70 depending on your local McDonald's original prices.

You can check to see where your nearest branch is using the chain’s restaurant locator tool.

Only those over the age of 16 can get the deal and only one item is allowed per customer.

They also cannot be used with any other promotion and no cash alternative is available.

Inother news, Wetherspoons is extending its club meal deal offers to run all week long, starting next Monday.

Meanwhile, takeaways on Deliveroo, Uber Eats and JustEat have beenfound to cost up to 44% more than ordering directly.

We've also rounded up some great snack ideas for children at picnics or outdoor events this summer.
