Meghan Markle’s tried and tested secrets to success include ‘staying out of the drama’

Meghan Markle put acting aside when she married Prince Harry, but there’s still plenty of drama in her life.

Before Meghan met Harry, she was a top actress and entrepreneur with her lifestyle blog ‘The Tig’.

She left it all behind for her prince charming and landed in hot water with the Royal Family.

Despite all of the accusations thrown between Meghan and the royals, she’s landed on her feet in America. With Harry, she’s fighting climate change, forging friendships with the rich and famous and focusing on her kids Archie and Lilibet.

Speaking to InStyle magazine, the future Duchess, who played boss-lady Rachel Zane in Suits had a few words for working women striving for success just like hers.

Stay out of the drama

Meghan’s had her fair share of drama as a royal, especially since the Oprah interview.

But before her Duchess days, she advised women to stay away from gossip – a sure fire way to boss it in the workplace.

She told InStyle, “I think in life and in the office, it’s best to stay out of the drama.

“You’ll be endlessly happier for it. If you want to do that, save that for drinks after work with your girlfriends.”

Know your value

Don’t feel small in the workplace – Meghan says you’re amazing!

“I think the biggest part of being a girl boss in the office, at home, or anywhere you go is just knowing your value.”

Make time for yourself

No matter how much work is on your plate at home or in the office, Meghan knows it’s important to have a little ‘me time’ to rebalance.

“I have to make the time to throw in a yoga class or walk my dogs or literally just turn it all off and meditate for a minute.

“I think you have to make time for yourself so that work doesn’t become the end-all-be-all.”

Style for success

Brains come before beauty in Meghan’s eyes, but a bit of power dressing will boost your confidence.

“It’s important to flex your intellectual prowess, even if you’re wiggling around in a pencil skirt.

“Have a power piece in your wardrobe. If it’s the one dress that makes you feel so badass, or the one crisp button-down. It can really shift the energy of your whole day.

“Rachel [her Suits character] was dressing for the role and the seriousness that she wanted people to treat her with.”
