Mortified mother leaves husband after lazy habits forces nanny to quit

Worst husband ever? Divorcée reveals her ex left ‘cigarettes on the floor for their toddler to munch on’, ate nuts in the car even though their son was allergic and let dirty nappies pile up for DAYS while she was in hospital

  • Anonymous woman, from Australia, explained why she left her husband
  • Revealed his consistently gross behaviour drove her to kick him out
  • Came back from hospital to find three days worth of soiled nappies on the stairs

A mother has revealed how she left her husband after growing tired of his revolting and irresponsible behaviour that eventually led to their trusted cleaner quitting on the spot.

The Australian mother, who has a son, shared an anonymous post on parenting website Kidspot that outlined the disgusting and even dangerous behaviour that led her to leave her ex-husband, who she said was anything but a hands-on father.

‘His attitude was the death knell for our marriage (a husband who refuses to let his wife sleep in past 5am one morning a week is not remotely attractive) but there were so many incidents along the way,’ she wrote.

‘Leaving a packet of cigarettes on the floor for our child to munch on. Eating pistachios in the car on the way home from work knowing our son was anaphylactic to them just by touch (yes, he was hospitalised with a reaction that night).

‘Like…real poisoning situations. He just didn’t pay attention. And he’d get angry with me for being angry.’

Despite this catalogue of alarming behaviour, the woman stayed with him.

The breaking point came when she spent three nights in hospital with pneumonia, leaving her husband to look after their son, then two years old, with the help of family. Their ‘angel’ cleaner Cheryl also visited.

The mother explained when she came home three days later she was greeted by a horrendous sight.

‘I walked in the front door and the stench of soiled nappies hit me,’ she continued. ‘But I couldn’t see any in the kitchen or lounge. Instead, on the kitchen benchtop, which hadn’t been cleared or cleaned, there was a note. I quit – Cheryl.’

The problems continued in the bedrooms upstairs. On the way up, she realised that soiled nappies were placed all the way up the stairs.

‘Every second one held a rolled-up dirty – some of them pooey – nappy. Not even in a nappy baggie. Just sitting there,’ she wrote.

‘Evidently, my husband had changed nappies and left them on the steps, ready to be taken out as he left. He didn’t take them out. He adorned the stairs with uncovered soiled nappies – some presumably from three days ago.’

Disgusted by her husband’s filthy lifestyle, she went on to say how a light bulb went off in her head and she decided it was time to leave her marriage.

‘I’d just recovered from pneumonia and now I had to clean the entire house that was considerably less clean than it had been on the night I became ill,’ she explained. ‘Ya couldn’t get the nappies to the bin? I wanted to call and yell at my husband.

‘I was mortified, but Cheryl never answered my calls so I could explain. She must have been disgusted and felt so disrespected. So on top of everything else, my husband cost me trusted help at home.

‘And that’s just a very small part of the story of how he became my ex just eight weeks later.’
