Angharad spent £12,000 on a tummy tuck and excess skin removal from her arms and has now shrunk down to a slinky 9 stone and wears a size six.

‘I decided at 35, enough was enough,’ she said.

‘The NHS didn’t accept me because I didn’t have high blood pressure or diabetes so it took me a while to save because I am a single mum to Tobi, 17, Bronze, 12 and Blake, 11.

‘I tried every diet in the book but I suffered from a binge eating disorder.

Angharad’s diet before

Breakfast – Two slices of toast with butter, coco pops

Lunch – Two bags of crisps and a sandwich

Dinner – Large portion of cottage pie or take away x2 per week.

Snacks – Whole pack of biscuits or crisps

Angharad’s diet now

Breakfast – Protein yogurt with handful of berries

Lunch – Mushroom omelette or salad

Dinner – Prawn stir fry or chicken casserole

Snacks – Sugar free jelly

‘I needed a tool to stop the binges as I would often scoff a whole pack of biscuits, crisps and two takeaways per week.

‘A typical order from a Chinese takeaway would be all the bad stuff such as sweet and sour chicken balls, noodles, egg fried rice and prawn toast.

‘I was a comfort eater who would mindlessly eat if I was happy, sad, lonely or anxious.

‘I was desperate to break the cycle as I want to live my life and start a new chapter.’

Angharad’s granddad Raymond, then 92, sadly passed away and left her inheritance money which meant she could afford the £11,000 gastric bypass in October 2020.

She went on to have a ‘Fleur De Lis’ tummy tuck and the excess skin removed from her arms for £12,000 in September 2021.

Now, one month on, she gleams with pride as she shows off her petite frame.

She said: ‘I didn’t have to think twice about booking the surgeries.

‘I wanted to change my life for my 40th. I didn’t want to feel trapped inside my own body anymore.

‘I had therapy three months before the surgery as I was so desperate for this to work.

‘I wouldn’t have been able to forgive myself if I failed and put weight on again so I had to learn how to tackle triggers that led to eating.

‘It was hard but worth it.

‘I realised that weight loss was to do with my mindset so I began walking with my two dogs which massively helped my mental health.’

Fabulous at forty! Angharad is looking forward to celebrate her 40th at the end of October as a size six.)

‘Now I have reached my goal as my 40th birthday is approaching and I can wear whatever clothes I want.

‘I wanted to feel confident and the best I could look.

‘I no longer have an apron of loose skin on my tummy!

‘Every day since the surgery, I have woke up with a smile on my face.

‘I am on top of the world.

‘I am feeling the best I have ever felt in my life.

‘I feel lighter and I am happy that I can help other people by sharing my story on Instagram.

‘I want to give others hope and empower women.

‘I feel like I can achieve anything I can put my mind to, nothing will stop me anymore.

The mental block has gone for me now.

‘It has cost me a lot of money but the joy is priceless.’
