Mum in tears after being told family of 7 cant sit together because of Covid

A family of seven was distraught when they went on a Haven holiday in Wales only to have it "completely ruined" when staff allegedly made a mistake about the rule of six.

Emma and her husband Dave have five young children and there is no legal reason for members of the same household to be kept apart indoors and the rules also do not include kids aged under 11, according to the gov.wales website.

The couple said they checked the Welsh Government website before they left for their holiday, at Haven Greenacres in Porthmadog, and were certain everything would be alright.

In a TikTok video, Emily then recalls how she and her partner were "shocked" when they arrived and couldn't sit together as a family for meals or activities.

"Apparently they are counting children within the rule of six even though on the Welsh Government website it says children under the age of 11 do not count.

"Every single one of my children is under 11."

She begs: "Can somebody somewhere help me? Because I've cried and this has literally completely ruined our holiday."

The family made their trip last weekend (July 17) but fortunately, it seems the whole trip was not a disaster because Emily eventually was able to get in touch with a Haven manager, Wales Online reports.

Emily said: "This is when things changed and I was really quite happy because I was contacted by a manager from another site and she said it was out of order.

"She emailed the Greenacres manager and the Saturday I chatted to the manager and we were able to book a table for all of us."

A spokesperson for Haven told the news site: "Since the start of the pandemic we have introduced a number of new procedures to help keep our guests feel safe and secure whilst on our parks.

"We’re not aware of the exact details of this issue and we apologise if we made a mistake in terms of seating arrangements for the family.

"We have sent a communication to all Welsh parks to remind them of the rule of six and how it applies in hospitality areas.

"We are aware that the guest has made a complaint and this will be addressed through the normal channels."
