A savvy mother has shared her simple recipe for ‘magic’ homemade couch cleaner, which she promises will lift grubby stains from fabric in seconds.

Carolina McCauley makes the DIY spray from two cups of water, half a cup of dish soap, 20 drops of essential oils and three quarters of a cup of hydrogen peroxide, which can be found in the first aid section of major chemists and supermarkets.

The mum-of-two, who lives in Perth, WA, mixes the ingredients in a spray top bottle, then spritzes it over her fabric couch before giving it a gentle scrub.

A video of the cleaning process uploaded to TikTok shows marks fading after just a few seconds of scrubbing.

‘This comes in handy for messy kids,’ Ms McCauley wrote in the caption.

The clip, which has been viewed 38,200 times since it was uploaded less than 24 hours ago, has drawn delighted responses.

‘Happy I found this,’ one viewer replied.

It’s the latest home hack from the Brazilian-born blogger, who has 381,000 followers on Instagram and a further 735,500 on TikTok.

In February, Ms McCauley showed fans how to clean a microwave without traditional cleaning products.

Using nothing but dish soap, water, lemon juice and a sponge, she promised your microwave will be spotless in no time.

‘This is my top microwave cleaning hack, using zero cleaning products,’ Ms McCauley wrote on Instagram.

BEFORE AND AFTER: Ms McCauley previously revealed how to clean your microwave without any cleaning products

She starts by mixing two cups of water with one tablespoon of dish soap and one cup of lemon juice in a bowl.

Ms McCauley said the solution should be heated in the microwave for five minutes to draw out steam and ‘loosen up any gunk’ in the appliance.

After five minutes, she wipes the inside with a warm wet sponge to dislodge dirt and grime with ease.

‘It’s so easy to try for yourself,’ Ms McCauley said.
