DEAR DEIDRE: MY anti-vax sister won’t let her kids get the Covid jab.

They both want it – her 12-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter – while their dad, who doesn’t live with them, is happy for them to have it.

But my sister, who’s 46, says she’ll kick them out it they have it.

She’s become vehemently against the vaccine, masks and anything else she sees as stopping her personal freedom.

She’s been on marches and tried to convert the family to her cause.

Most of us won’t engage but she’s fallen out with our brother. They don’t speak now.

She tried to stop Mum getting the vaccine but luckily her friends and GP persuaded her, as she’s old and vulnerable.

I’m 50 and have always loved and protected my little sister but I don’t know how to deal with this.

Can they get jabbed without her knowing?

DEIDRE SAYS: This divisive issue is tearing your family apart.

Legally, both parents have a say in whether their children should receive the vaccine.

If they can’t agree, they will need to meet with a doctor and their children to discuss this.

Ultimately, they might need to go to court and have a judge decide. Experts reckon it is very likely the children would then get the vaccine.

Threatening to kick out the kids could result in your sister losing custody. I am sure she doesn’t want this.

Your sister sounds scared. Try to support her and show her articles on the safety of the vaccination from reputable groups to help her make the decision. (0808 800 2222) might be able to help on that front.
