My heart stopped after I found a 'giant python' in my eBay parcel – not everything was as it seemed | The Sun

A MUM got the fright of a lifetime when she found what looked like a giant python in her eBay parcel.

Stockton mum Sammy Rawlinson, 36, ordered some pans from the auction site last week – but hadn’t expected a box as big as the one delivered yesterday.

Unsure whether it was her pans or not, she opened the package and was hit with a nasty surprise.

The mum from Durham said: “I did not know what it was because the parcel looked so big,” she said.

“When I opened the box wondering what was in it, all I saw was a python snake.

“I jumped and it took my brain a good few seconds to realise what it was.”

Bizarrely, the paper padding meant to protect the pans in transit had formed into the shape of the killer snake.

And the honeycomb style of the paper only made it worse, mimicking the appearance of reptilian scales.

For Sammy, a bookkeeping administrator, it was her first encounter with this style of padding.

She said: “I have never seen that wrapping before or that shape of it.

“I am not scared of snakes normally, but I would not be calm if there was a huge python in my house.”

Honeycomb paper wrap has become a popular alternative to bubble wrap in recent years as businesses seek to cut down on single-use plastics.

It’s meant to be fully recyclable and – even in a landfill – will decompose in two to six weeks.

“After that I would rather have bubble wrap,” joked Sammy.

It's not the first creepy surprise to pop up in someone's delivery.

This mum was left horrified after receiving sinister notes in her parcel from SHEIN that pushed her to call the police.
