Phil Collins’ ex-wife Orianne Cevey picked her boy toy husband from a male escort site where he advertised himself as a “sexy intellectual” as she still lived with the Genesis singer, court papers have revealed.

The 48-year-old Cevey “insisted on dating” 32-year-old Thomas Bates after finding him on the Cowboys 4 Angels site, according to legal documents.

She secretly wed Bates in 2020 in Vegas – with no prenup – and then moved him into the Genesis star’s $40 million Miami Beach mansion while Collins, 71, was in Europe on tour.

Collins was blindsided when he learned his ex had remarried and installed Bates at his house while he was away. He launched a successful legal bid to throw them out.

Things turned sour as Cevey and Bates settled into a $6 million Fort Lauderdale mansion.

The divorce paperwork between Cevey and Bates – first reported by The Daily Mail – reads, “At the time the parties met, Husband was employed by an escort service…..The Wife selected Husband through the escort service and insisted on dating him.

“The parties’ relationship rapidly progressed into a meaningful romantic relationship. Wife persuaded Husband to leave the escort service to marry her.”

She lavished Bates with more than $75,000 of designer clothes and watches plus a $340,000 Aston Martin.

But Bates claims in court documents that Cevey also threatened to slice off his genitals after he returned to their home after spending Thanksgiving last year with his parents, to find she had hidden his possessions.

The papers state, “Wife, who has a ferocious temper, threatened Husband with bodily harm (by cutting off his private parts) when he asked for his clothes and personal property.

“The Wife, who has earned a 3rd degree black belt designation and is trained in boxing, previously physically assaulted Husband on several occasions prior to separation.

“On one occasion, Husband had to scream for the housekeeper to help him exit the house to avoid Wife’s assault….Husband voluntarily vacated the marital residence for his safety.”

Last December, Cevey realized she shouldn’t have hurried love. She announced that she was divorcing her husband Bates after just a year, blaming the marriage breakdown on the pandemic.

“I believe the emotional distress of the COVID quarantine caused me to act in ways and do things that were out of character,” she said in an Instagram statement.

Cevey’s attorney Brian M. Karpf said, “This is a simple divorce of a very short term marriage.  Mr. Bates’ sensationalist pleading does not change this basic fact, which will carry the day.

“We are confident that if not dismissed outright, his claims will have no traction and Ms. Collins will prevail.

“Ms. Collins will not be drawn into the fray and distractions, and remains focused on her philanthropic endeavors and work in the community.”  Bates could not immediately be reached.

Collins and Cevey were married from 1999-2008. They share two sons together, Nicholas — who filled in for his father on drums on Genesis’ last tour — and Matthew.
